There are many bentonite clay uses and we’ve found Redmond Clay to be the highest quality and the best bentonite clay. You can read about all the benefits of Redmond Clay here (including some good videos) but here are some of the reasons WE love it so much:
- You can literally feel it pulling toxins, pain, burns, etc. right out of your skin. Since the clay has a negative charge, it pulls all the toxins from your body because they have a positive charge.
- Hydrated clay can be applied externally as a poultice on cuts, bruises, insect bites, bee stings, sunburn, boils, rashes, achy joints, acne, and burns.
- I’m in love with clay baths. Especially when I feel bad, like if I’m sick, have allergies, aching muscles, etc. I ALWAYS feel A LOT better after I have a clay bath. I started taking them in an effort to de-tox heavy metals in my body and while I don’t have any “real” proof that it helped, I’m pretty sure it did.
- You can use it internally for occasional diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, stomachache, acid indigestion, acid reflux, and other digestive problems. You can mix it in water or now they have it in capsules (hooray!)
The biggest tip we can give you about the clay when used externally is – DON’T let it dry out and put it on really thick (1/4 to 1 inch thick). Usually it works best to cover it with saran wrap (this is also one of the down-sides of it, but it is totally worth the effort).
Redmond Clay is now available in several different forms:
