doTERRA Essential Oils to Support Healthy Hair

There’s just something about a healthy head of hair and how it can make you look and feel great. doTERRA essential oils can help support healthy hair. First of all, the doTERRA shampoo and conditioner is excellent. I have been using it for years. I love how it doesn’t have the harsh chemicals that other shampoos have and how it makes my hair soft and full and doesn’t leave a residue. Since it doesn’t have the alcohols and sulfates that normal hair products have, it doesn’t dry out out my hair. Here are some other ideas to consider:

Root to Tip Serum

This is a relatively new product to the doTERRA line.  It is a salon professional formula infused with essential oils and protective lipids to provide a healthy environment for the scalp and hair.  The carefully chosen CPTG essential oils of lavender, peppermint, marjoram, cedar wood, lavandin, rosemary, niaouli, and eucalyptus combine to maximize overall healthy hair and scalp. This powerful, lightweight serum provides extended protection and moisture without weighing hair down or leaving an oily residue.

I am new to doTerra, but not new to hair loss! My hair started falling out about 2 years ago. I tried Nioxin. It helped a little, but very slowly. Then my niece introduced me to doTerra oils. Long story short, I just sent in an order for the oils used in this formula. This time next year I expect to be one hairy great-grammy! In doing my research on hair loss, I read that hair loss can also be caused by an iron deficiency. I added iron to my supplements and can report that the falling out has lessened. Now to regrow it. Thank you for the post!
Also, YES, this formula works! My niece is regrowing hair!

Regarding hair loss. Anyone know another protocol or oil blend for Alopecia? My friend has even had scalp transplants with no success. She also states that the hair follicles are gone. Any hope for her growing hair? It is hereditary on her dad’s side. Don’t you usually inherit your mother’s hair? PLEASE help me. I am her Wellness Advocate. She is going to start with the doTERRA Hair Care System. Heard Sandlewood in good for hair growth…?

Dear Rebecca, I can’t thank you enough for the recipe of this blend. Having tried many methods to overcome thinning hair and hair loss….i must say I started to use this blend without much hope. But somewhere deep down I had faith in the healing potential of essential oils. I noticed small baby hairs growing at the edges (where I had lost lot of hair) after 3 months of using the blend. Now after 6 months, I can see the density of my hair (number of hairs) has definitely increased and hair fall has reduced somewhat.

It is so exciting to see that it worked. Patience and perseverance is the key!

Notes: First I tried the doTERRA Essential Oils for Hair Growth and Thicker Hair recipe for 3 months. I added tea tree oil to this as I was also suffering from dandruff.

After using many shampoos for dandruff, I found that neutrogena scalp build-up control shampoo and neutrogena treatment conditioner work for me the best.

After the 3rd month of using the above mentioned recipe, I added the following essential oils to the blend: Clary Sage, Lemon, Cedarwood (not more than a drop or two of each) and sometimes Peppermint or tiny speck of Cinnamon.

I applied the blend after every hair wash and massaged in circular motion for a minute or two and combed and left it till the next hair wash. I have oily scalp but my hair felt well-conditioned when I applied the blend and I had to wash my hair after every 2 days atleast. I must say that I never oiled my hair with any carrier oil in the 6 months. However, I believe I could have see better results if I had done so.

Any other essential oil enthusiasts out there?! Please share your experience :)

Would love to try this for the same problem. Hypothyroidism causes hair loss in some areas but hair growth in others, it is an ongoing struggle.

Thanks for giving credit for the recipe from my blog! The original recipe is based on one from Dr Susan Lawton. Just to clarify, though… I am not a hair stylist, I am an Essential Oil Therapist, trained at Bastyr University and my blog has lots of other great ideas that I am happy to share with all of you!

I was just introduced to doTerra oils, and I was trying to convince my hubby to let us jump on the bandwagon, and I googled ‘doterra oils to help with hair loss’ in hopes of convincing him. I found this blog and I was super thrilled to see the giveaway!
