doTERRA Oregano Essential Oil

doTERRA Oregano oil uses are many – it is very versatile and very strong.  It should always be diluted before using on the skin and you should never take it orally without putting it in a capsule.  If you don’t want to bother making your own oregano oil capsules, you may like GX Assist because it has oregano oil and a few other things.  You should not take oregano oil for more than 10 days at a time.

I’ve had really good luck in the past making mixing about 1 drop of oregano oil per 10 drops of olive oil or fractionated coconut oil then holding it under my tongue for as long as I can stand it then swallowing it.  Be careful not to get it on the tip of your tongue or it will burn your taste buds.  This burns like crazy but also burns out allergies and colds like crazy.  It’s awesome!

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used oregano as a cleansing agent as well as for digestive and respiratory support. High in antioxidant activity, oregano contains phenolic acids and flavonoids.

Helps with Athlete’s Foot, Boils, Bronchitis, Candida, Parasites, Plantar Warts, and Strep Throat.

Read these tips from the doTERRA blog to see how to use Oregano oil.

Thank you for the great information! I’m a newcomer to essential oils and I have a question, that may sound silly, but do you put the whole 11 drops under your tongue or 1 drop of the entire mixture?

I have to share my oil of oregano experience. I’ve been using oil of oregano for almost 20 years, 2 drops under my tongue whenever I feel like I’m getting sick. I have always taken Oreganol P73. I just signed up with doTerra a month ago and finally got to try oregano today. In the Modern Essentials book it says to place 1-2 drops under the tongue so I did! Holy mother of God! I chased it with a sweet drink like I always do and it was like pouring fuel on a fire. I tried to drink water but nothing helped. I grabbed my toothbrush and natural toothpaste and tried to brush it off…if felt like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I think if someone tried to rip my tongue out of my mouth that’s what it would feel like. All under my tongue and the back of my throat is burnt. I am now officially afraid of it!

Oregano essential oil, especially doTERRA’s is INSANELY strong. To use it for something like that, I make up “oil of oregano” by adding about 1 drop of oregano oil to 10 drops of a carrier oil, like olive oil or coconut oil. It still burns like crazy. I put it under my tongue for a few seconds until I can’t stand the burn anymore then swallow it being careful not to let it touch the tip of my tongue. If it touches the tip if your tongue, it can cause you to lose your sense of taste for a few days. I only do this when I am really desperate, like really sick or my allergies are really bothering me. Luckily, I haven’t had to do it for a year or two. Instead, I prefer to get my oregano oil either in GX Assist or the On Guard + softgels now. You get the benefit without the burning!

    Hi,
You mentioned that it works for plantar warts. Am I correct to say that it works for the common wart as well? Do you recommend that I take it as treatment internally or apply it topically on the wart itself? Thank you!
