doTERRA DigestZen - replace all your other remedies for food allergies, heartburn, bloating, cramps, the flu, diarrhea, food poisoning & the list goes on and on . . .

For those of you who read my blog regularly, you know that 4 of the 6 people in our family have multiple food allergies. Over the course of the last several years, I have been able to totally eliminate some of my food allergies and lessen the reaction of the rest. But I’ve found the best treatment if I eat something I’m not sure about is to put a few drops of Digestzen in my water and drink it BEFORE I eat the questionable food. I did this at my brother’s wedding luncheon and I barely got sick after. If you forget to take DigestZen and realize you have a problem after, DigestZen can still be helpful but not as good as if you take it before. It has a pretty strong taste so I prefer to take 5 drops in about half a cup of water and get it over with. But you may want to put it in an empty capsule.

We also use this on our small children when they say their tummy hurts. We just put a drop or two on their tummy and rub it in. Works like a charm.

Here is some more information on DigestZen:

Many essential oils have been recognized through research as powerful agents to help restore normal balance in the digestive system. DigestZen™ takes advantage of these well-established therapeutic compounds in a proprietary blend of pure essential oils. Ginger, peppermint, tarragon, fennel, caraway, coriander and anise each have specific attributes which add to the overall efficacy of this potent blend. When used internally, dōTERRA®’s DigestZen brings soothing digestive relief. For aromatic, topical, or dietary use.

A few of the many uses for DigestZen™…

Heartburn:
Add one drop of oil to rice or almond milk and drink
Bloating and cramps:
Flavor water with 5 drops and drink
Diarrhea and other digestive issues:
Apply topically on the abdomen or take internally by placing 1-2 drops in an empty capsule and swallowing.
Congestion:
Diffusing into the air with our Lotus Diffuser can help clear up mucus.
Food poisoning:
Add 6 drops to 8oz of water. Swish around in the mouth, and swallow. Place 1-2 drops in an empty capsule, and swallow.

Helps with Abdominal Cramps, Bloating, Constipation, Diarrhea, Digestive Problems, Food Allergies, Food Poisoning, Heartburn, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Nausea, Salmonella, and Stomachaches.

i am intrigued with this product. my husband always seems to have problems with his digestion. he spends a lot of time in the bathroom, complains of gas and often suffers from heart burn. this might be the thing to alleviate his discomfort.

  2. Denice says

I am relatively new to essential oils, but I’m learning tons! I’m really excited to learn all the ways that it can help our family!

  3. marilyn sweeney says

I have a question. A family member of mine has discovered that she is allergic to something in the Digestzen. If she applies it topically she breaks out in a rash and if she takes it internally she experiences nausea. Has anyone had a similiar experience and if so is there one of the oils in the blend that might be the cause of the problem. She seems to be able to take peppermint and ginger without any issue. I would so appreciate your comments concerning this.

  4. Tamara H. says

I’ve been looking for colic remedies. Wondering if this would be better than individual oils like peppermint, lavender, or marjoram?

    • Rebecca says

I think it totally depends on the individual. For me, it’s just easier to use DigestZen instead of 3 separate oils but essential oils are very personal so you may just have to try and see what works best. Put it on the bottom of the baby’s feet on the middle, inside and rub up toward the toe so you get the stomach and esophagus.

  5. Lyndsey W. says

i would love to use this for myself. I have numerous stomach issues and the prescriptions do not work for me. I really want to try something natural.

    • Rebecca says

For tummy issues in general, I highly recommend a good enzyme, probiotic and DigestZen. That will start you on the path to feeling like a new person. If that isn’t enough, then usually parasites and/or Candida are involved. I talked about all these things on my blog so you may want to check it out!

  6. desiree says

i think this would help me i have so much problem with the stomach and then othere place and allergic to alot of stuff

  7. Diane Cooper says

I really need to get some DigestZen to have on hand for my husband, who suffers from many digestive ailments quite frequently.

    • Rebecca says

I love the stuff. I take a few drops with every meal, unless it’s something I know will give me a problem and then I take like 10 drops! I really wish doTERRA would put it in a capsule so it would be easier to take . . .

      • Meghan Iginoef says

Hello! If you go to the health food store you can buy a bag of gel capsules or even vegetarian capsules to put the oils in and take them however they should be taken immediately after putting them in the capsules :)

        • Rebecca says

I know you can but it’s a pain because they don’t last. I did hear somewhere there are some gel capsules of some sort that last longer but I’ve gotten to where I put tons of oils in my water and I can barely taste it. I mostly only notice when I taste plain water and it tastes so plain!

  8. Lindsey P says

I am new to the essential oils but am very intrigued by all the things I’m learning about them! I’m excited to use them with my family!

  9. Jesselyn A/Jesstinger says

I am very interested in trying TERRA DigestZen Essential Oil for a number of reasons. One is that about 20 years ago my Honey/Hubby suddenly develop a serious allergy to seafood (lobster, crab and shrimp) – which is especially unfortunate since we both LOVE seafood. It would be so wonderful if he would be able to eat our favorites together again! (He would of course be tested before he tried!) So your allergy stories were of great interest.

But also and more generally we both have started eating much more thoughtfully and healthy – as a consequence when we are in situation where we are somewhat compelled to eat foods that we used to eat all the time – our stomachs do bother us (especially me) and this sound like it could be very helpful with that too.

So thank you for both – the giveaway and the intro to this (and other TERRA products too)

My husband just returned from a 2-day hospital stay after getting salmonella (goodness knows from what but we suspect undercooked eggs!). I am wondering if this would be helpful for his recovery, which we have been told will take weeks.

    • RebeccaRebecca says

It should be. I took some a few weeks ago when I had a stomach bug when I thought I was about to throw up and it calm my stomach down and I never threw up. I still didn’t feel perfect but I felt about half as bad as before and never actually threw up. I would definitely give it a try . . .

  11. terri tillman says

i would definitely use it for my heartburn. i have it every day and have had for years and years. i hate taking any kind of medications for it.

  12. Evelyn Chuter says

I take medications for my stomace problems. I would love to get off the meds and use the Digest Zen instead.

  13. says

I would use mine for constant burning pain in my upper stomach. I had an endoscopy that showed only mind reflux though. I thought peppermint was bad for reflux as it dilates the the sphincter at the top of the stomach? Do you know anything about this?

  14. angela reed says

I would use it for indegestion, stomach aches and pains, as well as gas. I’m starting to need something, that works

  15. Vanessa says

I’d use it to get my digestion back in order. It’s always a little funky. momlovesdeals at gmail dot com

    • RebeccaRebecca says

It depends on the oil. If you get the Modern Essentials book, it has details on each oil and any precautions. Each oil is different. Some are fine during pregnancy. Some you only want to use externally, some not at all.

  16. Rebecca F. says

I would like to use DigestZen for heartburn and bloating. i love doTerra products… have never been disappointed.

  17. Brynn says

I get heartburn and stomach aches frequently because I have a sensitive stomach. Thanks for the chance to win

  18. Charlene says

I take a lot of medications which at times causes burning in my chest. I would definitely try the DigestZen Essential Oil Blend. Thanks for making me aware.

  19. Georgia Beckman says

We would use this most for heartburn. This is something that NEVER bothered us in the past, but as we are getting older, both my husband & myself find, we are experiencing it at least a couple of times a week. Not fun! I am also really anxious to use this in a diffuser to clear up mucus. Thanks for the chance!

  20. Joni Owada says

I have 4 small children, but my youngest often says that her tummy hurts, so I was so thankful to read that it can be used in this way. We all have food allergies as well, so I would love to try it for us.

  21. jo says

  22. annie page says

[…] DigestZen is an essential oil blend from doTERRA that is designed to provide soothing relief from digestive problems.  The ingredients?  Ginger, peppermint, tarragon, fennel, caraway, coriander, and anise.  That’s it.  No red 40 or yellow 6.  No sucrose.  No scary artificial substances.  Initially, I was a bit skeptical about how well this would work to relieve heartburn, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.
