Problem: Jasper G. went on a Paleo diet and got rid of his stomach issues but the problem is he’s losing too much weight now but wants to stay on a Paleo diet.
Jasper G. – I went on this Paleo diet because my doctor told me this would be the only way to fully get rid of my stomach issues which it did, my only problem is I’m losing too much weight 15lbs, I have only been on this since Jan. 1st, 19. I don’t want to go back to processed foods, I eat my veggie’s, fruits, nuts, some paleo bread. and almond unsweetened milk, and I don’t exercise. I need to be able to maintain the weight I am now at, but not get off the diet, any suggestions?

Rebecca N. – If your interested there’s a book called “it starts with food” by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig. It describes different types of food and what it does to your body so you can learn what types of food you need to be eating to gain weight etc.

Jolene E. – Look into white rice. I know Paleo purists may start screaming at me, but a lot of Paleo gurus say it’s ok
Lindsay P. – I recently started this and I have been able to tolerate it so far. Same with occasional gluten-free non-gmo oatmeal. I can’t lose any more weight, and this way at least I’ve stopped losing. I do eat a lot of protein and fat too.

Samantha M. – I tell people I eat paleo based. I’m not on some diet, I follow what my body says is or isn’t okay so for me white rice and potatoes are fine every once in a while😊

Monika H. – Start doing weights that will build muscle. Use coconut milk or cream. Brown rice is better for you as you can get low GI rice which helps with gut issues. Also, you can try a low Fodmap diet which is great for people that have gut issues.
Lindsay P. – I’m in the same boat. I suspect I have issues with protein digestion and am having blood work soon to find out. If you can see a naturopath to check for absorption issues that may help. I’m hoping digestive enzymes will help.
Also, we should ask ourselves if our grandmothers would recognize something as food! If yes, ok to eat. If no, avoid it! Simple! 😀
