Here are 9 of the best ever Paleo gelatin recipes. They are so awesome. Look at them. I want to make them all right now and eat them as fast I can. But first, why would you want to eat gelatin? Gelatin starts with collagen which is a protein. Collagen is important in connective tissue, bones, and skin. We actually have a lot of collagen in our bodies, more than any other protein. If you don’t have enough collagen in your body, it can cause problems with osteoporosis and skin wrinkles.
Collagen in food is mostly found in the tougher cut of beef that has more connective tissue than the more expensive cuts. We typically throw them away.
Gelatin comes into play because we rarely eat the tendons and skin raw, we cook them. Thank Goodness! Cooking the collagen changes it into gelatin. Gelatin is actually cooked collagen.
You have probably seen commercials or advertisements for wrinkles creams that contain collagen or maybe osteoporosis supplements. Gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen may also help heal gut problems. There is also some evidence that it helps with arthritis. When my mom was growing up people used to say that eating gelatin capsules, which you could buy way back then, would make your fingernails grow strong and beautiful. Don’t know if that’s true or not.
So now that you know very simply why you need to eat gelatin you can look over the Paleo Gelatin Recipes I have that have grass-fed gelatin as the main ingredient. Any of these recipes will help you get more of it into your system.
The best part is that these recipes are more like eating candy and dessert than eating something that is good for you. Who doesn’t love gummy bears, popsicles, marshmallows, and jello? Nobody I know.
