I wanted to comment because I made a double batch and froze it in 6oz mason jars to see how it did with the thaw. It is still awesome! The onion has a little more presence in the flavor but it is still scrumptious. I simply emptied one of the 6oz jars into a sauce pan and let it simmer while I cooked. When dinner was ready we used it on top of our vegetables and it was great!
