Pork chops are so delicious and I have 9 Paleo pork chops that you will love! There are so many different ways to fix pork chops, all Paleo. Pork chops and applesauce! I always think of the episode of “The Brady Bunch” when Peter was trying to impersonate Humphrey Bogart.
But do you know what the phrase “pork chops and applesauce” really means? The phrase dates back to the 1930’s, not as a reference to a meal, but in reference to “dressing up” a bland event or item. Basically, applesauce was a synonym for flattery. W.C. Fields was famous for calling snooty, pretentious people, “nothing but pork chops and applesauce”.
I wonder if Peter Brady, Humphrey Bogart or W.C. Fields ever heard of eating Paleo pork chops and applesauce. I doubt it.
I don’t have any recipes here for pork chops and applesauce but I do have a recipe here for Paleo Bacon Apple Smothered Pork Chops. Maybe you’d rather have a recipe for pork chops and blueberries, how about that? I’ve got that too.

I love pork chops but sometimes it’s hard to know when they are done. I usually cook them too long because I’m afraid of getting sick or something. I used to think it couldn’t be pink inside at all. My husband is kind of a fanatic about it and won’t eat it until it is totally white in the middle. Well, I just learned that the USDA has finally lowered its temperature recommendation for cooking pork. They used to say it needed to be cooked to 160 degrees which makes it tough and dry and completely white. Now they say that it only needs to be cooked to 145 degrees which makes it slightly pink in the center and juicy. Yeah, now I can have a pork chop that is juicy and not dry and not have to worry.

Pork Chops – Rosemary
Here is another recipe for some great Paleo pork chops. They are best if they are grilled and there are 3 ways you can grill at home. You can do it outside on the barbecue grill, inside with a cast iron grill pan or I really like my small George Forman electric grill. I really like my George Forman grill because I can take the plates out and put them in the dishwasher. It cooks off all the fat and it runs down into a pan so it’s actually a really healthy way to cook.
