Paleo Bacon Wrapped Chicken or Cornish Game Hen with Roasted Onions and Garlic {Whole30, Keto, Gluten-Free, Clean Eating Dairy-Free}

Paleo Bacon Wrapped Chicken

I love making this Paleo bacon wrapped chicken because it is not only really easy but looks so fancy and is full of flavor from the bacon, sage, onion and garlic!

  1. Preheat the oven to 425º F (220º C)
  2. Dry the game hens with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Drape 3 or 4 pieces of bacon over the breast of each bird, tucking between the wings and legs.
  4. Tie the base of the legs together with kitchen twine, tuck in the sage sprigs and drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil over each chicken.
  5. In a cast iron saucepan or oven tray, arrange the onion and garlic and pour in the chicken stock and 1/2 cup olive oil. Nestle the bacon wrapped chicken amongst the onion and sprinkle with rosemary.
  6. Cover with a roasting pan lid or aluminum foil and roast in the oven for about 45 minutes for Cornish game hens or 1 hour for a chicken.
  7. Remove the covering and cook for another 15-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon and sage are crispy.

The nutrition information is based off a whole chicken and can vary greatly, depending on which cut of meat you eat and how much skin, etc.
