1. Grilled Avocado Bruschetta – Heavenly NN Healthy
Avocados – Tomatoes – Olive Oil – Garlic – Fresh Basil – Lemon Juice
Instead of having your Bruschetta on bread this time try grilling on an avocado. It’s like eating a small fresh salad. The grill gives them sort of a smokey flavor which you can only get with a grill. You don’t have to grill them if you prefer not to or it’s too cold outside. You could bake them for a few minutes or eat them raw. I do think grilling them adds a nice touch that makes them special.
2. Grilled Summer Vegetables with Apple Mustard Sauce – Green Evi
Zucchini – Purple Onion – Padron Peppers – Champignons – Cherry Tomatoes – Olive Oil – Summer Savory – Pine Nuts – Applesauce – Spicy Mustard – Grained Mustard
This is a really easy vegetable salad that can be grilled in 20 minutes. It’s served with an apple mustard sauce which you can dip your veggies in. In case you’re wondering champignons are common mushrooms. I think it’s french. It could be a lot of fun to grill your veggies and then sit out in the lovely weather and sit and dip them in this sauce. At the same time you could be having an enjoyable conversation with friends or family.
3. BBQ Lentil & Sweet Potato Burger – Making Thyme For Healthy
Lentils – Onion – Carrot – Garlic – Sunflower Seeds – Walnuts – Breadcrumbs – Flour – Golden Flax Meal – Smoked Paprika – Chili Powder – Oregano – Dried Parsley – Sweet Potato – BBQ Sauce – Flax Egg – Olive Oil
You can’t have a grilling party without a good ole veggie burger. This time we have a lentil burger with sweet potatoes in it and BBQ sauce on top of it. It would be wonderful with the grilled corn on the cob which is the next recipe coming up. If you’ve never tried corn on the cob on the grill you really should try it. It doesn’t taste anything like when it’s boiled. There is no comparison. You’ll never want boiled corn on the cob again.
4. Grilled Corn on the Cob – Blissful Basil
Corn – Coconut Oil – Smoked Paprika – Lime – Fresh Cilantro
You have to try grilling corn on the cob! You cook it right in the husk and it comes out wonderful. The husk which you throw away anyway get charred and maybe even a little burned. The actual cob of corn doesn’t get burned, it just gets cooked and it’s absolutely delicious. This is made with coconut oil and spices rubbed on the cob after it’s grilled and husked.
5. Grilled Miso Glazed Egg Plant – Recipe Tin Eats
Eggplants – Oil – White Miso – Mirin – Sake – Sugar – Shallot – Sesame Seeds
This is modern Asian cooking at it’s best. Nagi takes a traditional Japanese recipe and thickens the sauce and uses it as a glaze and cooks the eggplants on the outdoor grill. It is fast and easy and the flavors will pleasantly surprise you. Eggplant and miso are a nice combination of flavors. When you caramelize the glaze it really takes it to another level.
6. General Tso’s Grilled Cauliflower – Eat Well 101
Cauliflower – Canola Oil – Corn Starch – Soy Sauce – Red Chilies – Onion – Rice Vinegar – Sesame Oil – Brown Sugar – Vegetable Stock – Sriracha Sauce – Fresh Ginger – Garlic
Here is a sweet crunchy twist on grilled cauliflower kabobs. It’s a copycat of General Tso’s cauliflower kabobs. They are pretty healthy and would make a great snack or hors d’oeuvre. The cauliflower florets are tossed in a chili, soy, and oil marinade. Then they are grilled on skewers and served with a savory-sweet spicy sauce. The toasted sesame seeds give them a nice crunchy twist.
7. Balsamic Garlic Grilled Mushroom Skewers – Closet Cooking
Mushrooms – Balsamic Vinegar – Soy Sauce – Garlic – Thyme
Veggies are great when grilled and mushrooms are at the top of the list when it comes to amazingness. Ya, I probably made that word up but you know what I mean and I got your attention, didn’t I? Grilling them brings out the flavors of the veggies and the grill adds a smokiness and some caramelization happens. These are nice and easy to prepare and they’re perfect for summer get-togethers. You only need to marinate the mushrooms, skewer them up and then put them on the grill. It’s that easy.
8. Balsamic Grilled Carrot Dogs – Well Vegan
Carrots – Balsamic Vinegar – Olive Oil – Garlic – Hot Dog Buns – Smokey Tomato Jam – Kale Walnut Pesto
I love the look of them grilled hot dogs! They look so authentic, don’t they? But they are actually marinated carrots that are cooked on the grill. Then they are put in a hot dog bun with green and a yummy kale walnut pesto sauce is drizzled on top. So much healthier than all those animal body parts ground up together. Ew!
9. Grilled Tofu Skewers with Spicy Peanut Sauce – It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken
Tofu – Soy Sauce – Agave – Smoked Paprika – Garlic Powder – Peanut Butter – Coconut Milk – Lime Juice – Sriracha Peanuts – Cilantro
I think it’s true that food on a stick just tastes better. Ask anybody especially someone under the age of 10. Do grill marks actually make food taste better or is it totally psychological? I don’t know the answer to that and I’m not going to spend millions of dollars doing a study but I do think it’s an interesting concept.
You wanna know what makes this tofu grilled on skewers even better? I’m gonna tell you anyway. It’s the peanut butter sauce. Oh yes, it is. You’re going to have to try it if you don’t believe me. Or even if you do believe you’re really going to have to try it. You won’t be sorry.
