Healthy Banana Bread with Applesauce Recipe

This banana bread with applesauce recipe was so easy – I can’t wait to buy more bananas!


  • 2 Cups White Flour (may sub up to half with whole wheat flour)
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 4 Large Bananas, (ripe to over-ripe and mashed)
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Real Salt *


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl
  3. Mix brown sugar and applesauce until completely blended
  4. Add 2 eggs, vanilla, and bananas to the sugar and mix well
  5. Add wet ingredients into the dry and fold until all ingredients are wet
  6. Pour into a greased 9X5 bread pan *
  7. Bake on 350 for 60-70 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
