Actually, I make them for myself and since I have to eat gluten-free, I eat them as part of my meal, especially for lunch. Those days when I just can’t find enough gluten-free food to eat and I’m still a little bit hungry I’ll eat one of these. They pick my blood sugar up and I feel better too. I don’t add any sweetener at all to mine and they are really good.
I make recipe #1 because they are so easy because there are only 3 ingredients, peanuts, and dates, and salt. Just throw the ingredients in the food processor roll them into a ball and bam – I’m done! I don’t miss the sweetener at all, the dates make them plenty sweet for me, but I haven’t eaten any sugar for years now so my taste buds are used to not eating sugar now.
I am actually repelled by the thought of eating sugar, I actually don’t like the taste anymore. If I slip and eat a little bit of candy you might actually see me spit it out. Pretty weird huh? That’s a pretty short list which is also sweet. That’s what my brother always says if he likes something – sweeeeeeet. They can be made in 10 minutes, toss them into a food processor, form balls and you’re done, baby. Little pieces of pits in your energy bite isn’t very good and they’re mighty hard on the teeth too. I know this from experience.
