1. Pork Chili Verde Crock Pot Recipe – My Natural Family
Tomatillos – Poblano – Pork Roast – Onions – Cilantro – Green Chilis – Avocado – Lime
This is the best soup to make and eat on a cold winter day. The meat is easy because all you do is cut a pork roast into pieces. This is made in a crock pot but you could easily simmer this in a covered pot on the stove top for about 2 hours. You may need to add more chicken broth of too much of the liquid boils off.
2. Paleo Pork Roast Slow Cooker Recipe with a Sugar-Free Chimichurri Sauce – My Natural Family
Pork Roast – Carrots – Onion – Chimichurri Sauce
This is my favorite way to make pot roast for three reasons. I cook it in the crock pot which always means it’s easy to make. I start cooking it just before I go to bed or low and it’s done for dinner the next evening. I always do this with a frozen roast because if you use a thawed out roast it will be cooked too much. The best reason I like this is because of the chimichurri sauce. It’s divine, I could eat it on almost anything. In fact, I have tried it on a lot of things and it never fails. Don’t add the veggies the night before though. Sometimes I like my carrots and potatoes steamed and I don’t put them in the crock pot at all. It’s just personal preference but it’s really hard to get potatoes and carrots cooked in the crock pot and not cook them too much. My advice is “do it your way”.
3. Cafe Rio Pork Salad Recipe with Creamy Tomatillo Ranch Dressing – My Natural Family
Pork Loin Roast – Tomatoes – Chipotle Chilis – Buttermilk – Mayo – Tortillas – Rice – Beans – Lettuce – Pico de Gallo – Tortilla Strips
This is a clean eating version of a copy cat Cafe Rio pork salad. I love the pork and especially love the dressing but do you know what is in a real Cafe Rio pork salad? It’s full of Coke and brown sugar. That’s a lot of unhealthy, not clean sugar. Besides people use coke to clean their toilets. My stomach is not a toilet. I experimented several times and came up with this recipe that I think is much healthier and I actually like it better than the “real thing”.
4. Crock Pot Sausage Black Beans and Rice – Serena Bakes Simply From Scratch
Dried Black Beans – Smoked Sausage – Onion – Garlic – Tomatoes – Chicken Broth – Carrots – Celery – Red Bell Pepper – Hot Sauce – Brown Rice – Tomato Paste – Sour Cream – Lime – Green Onions – Cilantro – Grated Cheese
I like to eat this with a big slice of cornbread on the side. The brown rice helps it keep it’s texture better than white rice because it’s cooked for so long. My suggestions of toppings take this beyond ordinary and into the realm of heavenly food.
5. Slow Cooker Burrito Bowl Recipe with Chili Spiced Pulled Pork – Gluten Free Daddy
Pork Loin – Salsa – Beans – Rice – Avocados – Cheese – Sour Cream
Of course, I like this because it’s cooked in the slow cooker but I also like its versatility. It’s a gluten-free version of a typical burrito. Sometimes I like to leave out the Mexican ingredients and top it with roasted vegetables like peppers, summer squash, onions, and zucchini instead. You can also put it on tortillas instead of the rice and have a burrito. It’s also nice because people can choose the ingredients they prefer and personalize their meal the way they like it. It’s kine of like a meal you would buy at Chipotle.
6. Pork Carnitas – Damn Delicious
Pork Shoulder – Chili Powder – Cumin – Oregano – Garlic – Onions – Oranges – Limes
These are the easiest carnitas you to make because you make them in the crock pot. They are cooked low and slow and the result will be really amazing pork that is falling apart tender.
7. BBQ Ribs – The Rising Spoon
Pork Ribs – Garlic Powder – Onion Powder – Seasoning Blend – BBQ Sauce
This is for those people who want a smoker but don’t have one. You can still make your own delicious BBQ ribs in the slow cooker. These are fall off the bone juicy and tender ribs flavored with fat. A nice spice rub and a nice thick coating of BBQ sauce added before you cook them is what makes the ribs so mouth watering. 8. Split Pea Soup – Grounded and Surrounded
Carrots – Onion – Celery – Green Split Peas – Chicken Stock – Leftover Ham – Dried Dill
Split Pea soup has long been a family favorite of ours. It can be very forgiving because you can add or delete any ingredients within reason that is. I know the traditional split pea soups are made with ham but I always made mine with sausage until I tried making it with Italian seasoned sausage. That as long since become my favorite, the Italian seasonings add so much flavor.
9. Gumbo – Tammilee Tips
Chicken Breast – Smoked Sausage – Raw Shrimp – Onion – Green Pepper – Hot Pepper – Celery – Tomatoes – Garlic – Chicken Broth – Cajun Spice – Cooked Rice
This gumbo was developed after having eaten in New Orleans and loving real authentic gumbo so much. It was duplicated as closely as it could be. It turned out so good.
