I have a list of 9 Paleo meatballs that provide inexpensive protein. All of these recipes are true Paleo. I went on a scavenger hunt for paleo meatballs recipes and I am really happy with the variety of recipes I found. I love meatballs, whether they are tomato based or Swedish meatballs – or any other kind. Finding good Paleo meatballs recipes can be a problem because they need to be gluten free plus clean eating. Meatball recipes usually call for bread crumbs or flour or oatmeal to act as a binder and make the meat stick together. Since Paleo meatballs recipes cannot include these ingredients, that’s what makes it hard to find a good Paleo meatballs recipes.
I grew up on my mother’s meatball recipe which was some ground beef, some breadcrumbs an egg and a can of cream of mushroom soup mixed with water for sauce. I liked it back then, but I don’t like it now, the processed soup is not for my taste buds now and it definitely isn’t Paleo.
I have a good variety of recipes and you’re sure to find your favorite meatball recipe here. Some of these recipes are made with beef, some are made with chicken, turkey or lamb and some are made with pork sausage added.
If you haven’t tried making your own ground chicken in the food processor, it’s really easy (easier if they are slightly frozen). I love ground chicken because the texture is good, they are light and easier to chew than regular chicken breast and they go really well with certain flavors. Paleo turkey meatballs are similar to the chicken ones and nice since it’s getting easier all the time to find ground turkey at the grocery store.
